ACTOR’S TRAINING 2010 FOR ADULTS (16 – 60+)

Start your Actors Training with Artemis Theatre Company well known for their original productions (most recent Van Gogh, Thembones, Mary Shelley goes to Hollywood).

1 YEAR FOUNDATION COURSE 

Ideal for those with no formal training.

The Foundation Course consists of 3 terms – each term runs for 8 weeks. All classes are held on 2 evenings each week and a half day session on Sunday. At the end of the year, there will be a Showcase of students work. If engaged in any other Artemis performances, these Rehearsals would be extra.

Learn basic skills in Acting, Voice, Movement, Physical Theatre, Improvisation, Characterisation and Stage Craft.

• Opportuniti es to work in Artemis productions as an actor, as well as backstage (eg: technical, design & making of set, costume, etc).

Term starts September 2010.

 

PERFORMANCE COURSE

The 2nd year Performance Course starts in September 2011.

This course can only be taken after successful completion of the Foundation Course.  Some students will be considered if they have sufficient previous experience.

TERMS 1 AND 2

Students will continue to improve the mastery of vocal, breathing and physical technical skills, but with more emphasis towards working on scripts in many different styles and the rehearsal process of building a Character; the emotional development and inner life.

The focus being to put into practice everything learnt in the Foundation year. We will be working with scripts from Classical to Contemporary and within a range of different styles of Theatre.

       

TERM 3

Developing your own project with others in the group or on your own (e.g. a performance, set design, filming projections). There will be a Showcase of all students work at the end of the course. 

Students will receive guidance on their career development if they choose (e.g. exams; pathways to further training and auditions for Drama School).

Master Class Workshops will be held once a month for all Performance Course students.

These workshops will focus on specific subjects and will be led by an experienced Teacher and Drama practitioner who is currently working in the field of Theatre, Film or TV.

Places on the Acting Courses are limited to twenty.
